Borgo ai Lecci: charming villas in the heart of Tuscany

  I was drawn to Franco’s place because of rave reviews from prior guests, and was not disappointed. We were greeted by Franco and his daughter on arrival (both having stayed up until after midnight because of our delayed flight), shown around the beautiful house and grounds and plied with amazing home-baked treats. From there our stay just got better - we enjoyed the beautiful large private pool, (a selection of inflatables supplied for the kids!), ping pong and foosball tables. Franco had excellent suggestions for outings to local cities (Pisa, Lucca, Florence, and some smaller towns) and we found his directions for parking, which museums to go to, etc, incredibly helpful. We enjoyed a pasta making class with Franco and also his wife’s delicious catering. Would love to return.

The house itself is magical with every amenity possible and of course in a beautiful setting in the Tuscan countryside. Franco and his family offered pastamaking classes and homecooked meals, which were wonderfully done, delicious, and family friendly.

Our time in Tuscany flew by and we are already missing our trip, all due to Franco and his family's hospitality. We definitely 100% recommend!

As he... read more and his daughter Sonia greeted us and provided a friendly tour of the homes and grounds, we were so very pleased with every touch - from the home-baked goods, drinks and treats to welcome us after a long travel day, to the monogrammed slippers and robes, and even their own beautiful vials of olive oil pressed from their orchard. Every comfort was thought of and provided making it all better than expected. We had total privacy and security inside the gated multi-acre gardens, two refreshing swimming pools to spend hours in, lovely grounds and games to explore, and Franco just across the way in his own beautifully restored historic villa, pretty much at our beck and call anytime should we need him almost like a concierge. He went above and beyond fixing an incorrect toll ticket we received among other help we are so very grateful for.

The house was big, clean and had all the utensils we needed. The location of the house made it great for day trips. As it were very hot during our stay, we spent three days on the much cooler beach, and one day on a boat trip to Cinque Terra. In the mornings we visited small villages and Lucca.

Franco and his family are welcoming and knowledgeable of the Tuscany region. We couldn’t have had better hosts. Franco has a designated area to host private events and cooking lessons. We truly enjoyed our pasta and pizza nights. The class set up was professional and well organized for us and our children. We also had Franco and his beautiful wife cook an Italian dinner for us. They were punctual and offered great quality menu options for both the adults and children. Franco and his family are truly passionate about and proud of their country, their family and their traditions. We had planned to visit so many places in the area, but we ended up spending more time in the house relaxing and enjoying the food. They even had hundreds of toys for the kids.
